Over the years, I noticed that I've been using widgets not only for my blog, but in other devices with various kind of operating system too. I us it in Mac Pro, Mac Book Pro, Vista, Windows 7 and even in my phone. Of course some of it called differently like "Gadget" in Vista & Windows 7. I even develop my own gadget for my clients.
So widget is not exclusively used in web or blog only. It is a term used when you want to embed any application on top of your device display. Now it is time for me to cover other type of widget in this blog too. Some of it are still been my favorite. Read more »

Website / Blog Trackers Roundup
I believe website trackers are among the oldest widgets ever use on the web. I still remember 8 or 9 years ago I plugged this little snippet on my Geocities free web pages just to track down the visitors. Some of the old providers are still around but there are also many new providers with lot of extra features taking up the top places.
- Google Analytics
- AddFreeStats
- XTReMe Tracking
- Webstats4u
- StatCounter
- SitetrafficStats
- OneStat
- Sitetracker.com

Widgetbox - A box full of widgets
Widgetbox is a directory and syndication platform for web widgets for blogs and other web pages, that's what they claimed. I like how they arrange widgets and it is fairly easy to navigate from one widget to another. User have to sign up as a member before allowed to subscribe any widget. This is how they track each widget subscriptions. You also can submit new widget to them if you want to plus you also have chance to create your own Blidget (Blog + Widget = Blidget) by simply using your blog URL.
I created a Blidget for Widgetrix and it turns out very well. Take a look.

Grazr RSS Reader / Ticker
Someone ask me if I could install RSS ticker on his Blogger and I remember declining it. The only ticker that I know during that time is a PHP based script. Well if someone ask again, I'll straight away pointing you to Grazr RSS Reader. You can customize it with color themes, 3 type of default views and dimensions. Once finished you can copy the generated code and paste it into your blog.
I've created a Grazr using centralized Feedburner RSS and it looks fantastic.
